Squeekies visit

Posted by anonymous at 12:18 PM on March 04, 2010 Comments comments (0)

Stephen Cummings -Squeekie-came up to change his soft top for a hard top-a round trip of over 600 miles

ALL respect to him.

He came up on the friday evening and spent the night in the luxurious Rocsta motel.

We started work on a bitterly cold Saturday morning and he drove home early evening to Surrey

.Luckily it stayed dry otherwise it could have been a bitch of a day.

As he admitted he is no mechanic but a willing learner and helper-he also drove away with 4 good mud tyres and a few other bits and pieces.

WARNING!!!

Do not buy locking fuel caps advertised on Ebay

They are NOT correct-and you will NOT get a refund from

autopartsonline-just a very rude e-mail.

Visit from Butch and family - 25th August 2008

Posted by ROCSTAMAN at 09:15 AM on August 28, 2008 Comments comments (0)

Butch ( Neil ) and wife Jo and son George came up from Derby to stay over Bank Holiday.

Excellent company despite sad weather -had a great day out on Sarn Helen 1 ( Aberdulais Falls to Banwen ) and then a play in Walters Arena.

Jo is now another convert to off-roading

Butch took away 2" lift kit and polybushes for leaf springs so we can expect another credible off-roader at next years Rally-he's also getting 16" vitara wheels and some big muds

Thanks again for visit and gifts and see you at Rally if not before.

Wales -Off roading Sunday 13th April

Had a great day out 2 Rocs and a Land Rover-shame the Land Rover couldnt go the distance and had to retire with a bent drag link bar-but it is what we Rocsta owners have come to expect

Good to finally meet the 2 amphibians, Steve and Alan

Started at Banwen at 10am had a play in mudpools and some hill- climbing-going down one hill was fun -nearly tipped Roc but not quite-cause-no ballast in passenger seat!

Cheers,Bear

Then up to Sarn Helen down the Steps and stopped for lunch-unfortunately a rash of Suzukis turned up so had to cut lunch short-didnt want them to be left with feelings of inadequacy, etc

We then headed off for Strata but I missed turning for Llandovery ( early senility )so back to Banwen for a play and then home for a cuppa  in the Rocsta Inn and about 6pm Steve and Alan headed back to Hereford

Oh,my mini  -snorkel was not a great success! See picbelow-will be making a proper one very soon-yes thats muddy water and it was full!

Land Rover got home safely you'll be pleased to know
